Women are more prone to workplace due to the many roles they play in life: as career woman, wife, mother, daughter, and friend. Women work way beyond the 9-5 shift, often needing to rush home to cook dinner, assist the kids with homework, and prepare the next day’s office attire for the hubby. The stress and anxiety caused by endless tasks and close to impossible deadlines in a high-speed, high-tech world has made women’s lives a living web of complexity.

The real question is: just how can women cope with stress and anxiety? The first step will be dissect the issue and understand just how these psychological and emotional conditions make women’s lives more difficult.

Stress is a combination of fatigue, restlessness, depression, over-focusing, and over-all gloominess which is a consequence of overwork and various other domestic or personal problems. The difficulty of attempting to balance time between work as well as the home has caused lots of women to suffer from stress. 4. Rearrange your workstation – Add some “homey” look to your workstation… put up photo frames of the family or favorite pet. When ever you feel stressed out just glance at their happy faces or cuteness —and you will find yourself smiling back!

5. When a plant isn’t just a plant – Having a plant around your workplace is great stress relief. Studies show which looking at something green like a plant helps soothe your eyes after facing the computer monitor throughout the day or after reading for a long time. Focusing on a green plant may have a soothing effect.

6. Exercise – Walking, climbing the stairs, or going out to run helps fight stress. Physical activity help get rid of tension. During a workout, the body releases endorphins which helps the body to relax. Endorphins also act as natural pain killers. You will find a lot of exercise videos which you can use ranging from the standard aerobics to pilates, tae-bo, and a host of other fitness programs.

7. De-clutter- A cluttered workstation like pens,pencils, notepads,a lot of papers spread around every inch of your work place adds to your stress. Make your work environment more appealing by organizing your things and throwing away things you no longer need.

8. Set Boundaries- Communicate and assert yourself, create your co-workers know as soon as you are more available for chit chat.

9. Go less in your caffeine intake- caffeine even is popularly known as a stimulant, too much from it adds to stress even leads to depression.

10. Eat a great breakfast- Don’ avoid meals even if you are indeed in a hurry. Studies shows that should you decide make it a practice to consume breakfast on a regular basis, you are body gets more the needed proteins to give you an energy boost to face the working day.

Beat work-related stress without beating yourself up. Learn simple tips to relax. One way to relieve stress is to keep a journal or write down your feelings. I prefer to write down my feelings on a piece of paper and then shred it. It’s great because you may not want to share your problems with others.

Believe it or not, many people may not know exactly what is causing them stress in their lives. To find out try brainstorming your thoughts and write it down. You may notice you are focusing on a particular subject that may be the source of your stress.

Think about it, we schedule waking up, commuting time, lunch time, our kid’s lives, fantasy base ball drafts, holiday dinners and every other little aspect in our lives. Take a moment and try schedule a block of time just for you.

This is my favorite tip to relieve stress. Exercise can be safe haven for you (if you do it right). I exercise daily and it’s great because I focused only on my work out. I highly recommend you start your own exercise program.

If you do consider exercise as a way to relieve stress, then you should see your doctor first. You doctor can make sure you can exercise and maybe provide pointers on how to get started. Your exercise program should consist of a combination of weight training and aerobic exercise.

When starting any exercise program you should always start off with very light work outs so you can evaluate your fitness level. If you’re weight training use very light weights. Start with walking for your aerobic workouts. You can always work your way up as you get stronger.

To learn how you can relieve stress may be a beneficial skill to learn for your overall health. Stress can cause a lot of aggravation pain in your life (if you don’t deal with it). In fact stress can be so bad that it holds us back from our full potential. Even though we live in a challenging world, learning to relieve stress will help in the long run.
